Fifa anuncia que Copa não teve nenhum caso de doping
A Fifa anunciou nesta terça-feira que nenhum dos exames antidoping realizados durante a última Copa do Mundo teve resultado positivo para uso de substâncias proibidas. A entidade informou que 552 amostras de urina e sangue foram colhidas junto aos jogadores que participaram da competição.
Em nota publicada em seu site oficial, a Fifa lembrou que fez visitas às concentrações das 32 seleções participantes do Mundial para realizar testes antidoping e que, em média, oito jogadores de cada país foram sorteados para serem submetidos aos exames, fato que totalizou 256 atletas examinados antes do início da competição.

Já durante a realização da Copa, os testes antidoping foram feitos após cada jogo, com dois jogadores sorteados de cada seleção. A entidade disse que todas as amostras colhidas foram analisadas no laboratório credenciado pela Agência Mundial Antidoping (Wada) de Bloemfontein, na África do Sul.
Chefe do serviço médico da Fifa, Jiri Dvorak afirmou que, “em comparação com a Copa do Mundo de 2006, a Fifa dobrou o número de exames realizados antes da competição”. “Os jogadores nunca foram submetidos a testes em profundidade em uma Copa do Mundo como foram este ano”, ressaltou.
