Uruguai pede, e Fifa tira árbitro inglês com medo de retaliação
Uruguaio cometeu erro grave contra Inglaterra (Reuters)
A pedido dos uruguaios, a Fifa decidiu trocar a arbitragem da partida entre Uruguai e Gana, que ocorre nesta sexta-feira às 15h30 (horário de Brasília), no Soccer City. Antes escalado para apitar o duelo, pelas quartas de final da Copa do Mundo, o árbitro inglês Howard Webb não trabalhará mais nesta partida.
A mudança ocorreu a pedido da Associação Uruguaia de Futebol (AUF), que temia retaliação inglesa por conta do erro do uruguaio Jorge Larrionda na confronto entre Inglaterra e Alemanha, nas oitavas de final.
Na ocasião, nem o árbitro nem os assistentes Pablo Fandiño e Mauricio Espinosa perceberam que a bola chutada por Lampard ultrapassou completamente a linha do gol defendido pelo goleiro Neuer.

Já está definido que o português Olegario Benquerenca será o substituto. Ele será auxiliado por Bertino Miranda e José Manuel Cardinal, também de Portugal. “Apenas transmiti o sentimento de todo o povo uruguaio quando soube quem seria o árbitro da partida”, resumiu o Sebastián Bauzá, presidente da AUF.
