Uruguai vence, vai às oitavas e põe México no caminho da Argentina

O Uruguai venceu o México por 1 a 0, gol de Suárez, pela última partida da primeira fase do grupo A e garantiu a liderança da chave e a classificação às oitavas-de-final da Copa do Mundo de 2010. Com o resultado, o México terminou na segunda colocação da chave. Ao fim da primeira rodada dos Grupos A e B, ficou definido que o Uruguai jogará contra a Coreia do Sul na primeira fase do mata-mata, e o México enfrentará a Argentina.
A Celeste, que terminou na liderança do Grupo A com 7 pontos, não conseguia se classificar para a segunda fase do Mundial desde 1990, quando acabou eliminada nas oitavas pela anfitriã Itália. Em 2002, o Uruguai caiu na primeira fase ao perder para a Dinamarca e empatar com Senegal e França.
Já o México terminou na vice-liderança, com 4 pontos, mesmo número da África do Sul, mas com melhor saldo de gols. A equipe azteca confirma a classificação para a segunda fase pela quinta Copa consecutiva.

Considerando que ela não participou dos Mundiais de 1982 e 1990, a última vez que o país caiu na etapa de grupos foi em 1978. A última vez que a seleção do México cai na fase de grupos foi em 1978, na Argentina. Mas se a lógica prevalecer, os mexicanos sofrerão nas oitavas de final, já que, em 2006, perderam para a Argentina por 2 a 1 na prorrogação.

A partida desta terça-feira também foi histórica para o maior veterno da seleção mexicana. Titular contra o Uruguai, o meio-campista Blanco se tornou o mexicano com mais partidas em Copas do Mundo: 11 no total.
O Uruguai volta a campo, pelas oitavas-de-final, no sábado (26/06), às 11h, contra a Coreia do Sul. A partida do México contra a Argentina será no domingo (27/06), às 15h30.

O jogo
Mesmo precisando de um empate para se classificar na Copa do Mundo, o Uruguai foi para cima do México desde o início do jogo. Logo aos 5 minutos da partida, os uruguaios tiveram o primeiro lance de perigo. Suárez aproveitou falhas de Rafa Márquez e Héctor Moreno e chutou cruzado.
Aos 17 minutos, Forlán cobrou escanteio e Victorino, livre, cabeceou por cima do gol de Oscar Pérez. Porém, o México também teve chance de abrir o placar na primeira etapa. Aos 20 minutos, Guardado arriscou de longe e surpreendeu o goleiro Muslera e a bola bateu no travessão.
O Uruguai não deixou os mexicanos gostarem do jogo e no lance seguinte já tentou novamente. Álvaro Pereira bateu de esquerda e a bola saiu à direita de Oscar Perez.
Aos 43 minutos do primeiro tempo saiu o gol uruguaio. Forlán passou para Cavani, que cruzou para Suárez, livre, cabecear para o gol.
O segundo tempo foi menos movimentado, mas o Uruguai quase ampliou o placar aos 8 minutos. Forlán cobrou falta, Lugano cabeceou e Pérez espalmou. No rebote, Álvaro Pereira foi bloqueado pela zaga mexicana.
O empate mexicano quase saiu aos 19 minutos, com Rodríguez. Barrera cruzou para a área, Rodríguez, livre, de peixinho, errou o gol de Muslera. No fim da partida, o Uruguai teve a última chance para fazer o segundo. Aos 42 minutos, Cavani arriscou de longe e Pérez fez a defesa. Fim de jogo: 1 a 0 para o Uruguai e as duas seleções classificadas.
