Parreira culpa falta de sorte por eliminação da África do Sul

O técnico Carlos Alberto Parreira creditou a eliminação precoce da África do Sul na Copa do Mundo à falta de sorte. A seleção anfitriã deixou a competição com 4 pontos, mesmo número alcançado pelo classificado México, mas perdeu a vaga nas oitavas de final pelo saldo de gols.
“Iss o me faz lembrar uma declaração do técnico espanhol Rafa Benítez em um congresso da Fifa. Ele disse que, para ter sucesso, você precisa de qualidade técnica, organização e sorte. Ficou claro que faltou sorte para nós”, lamentou Parreira.

Todo mundo sabia que estávamos em um grupo muito difícil. Mesmo assim, só não nos classificamos por causa do saldo de gols. Os jogadores ficaram tristes, mas falei para eles manterem as cabeças erguidas porque venceram a França, um grande time”, concluiu Parreira.
A África do Sul foi o primeiro país anfitrião de uma Copa a ser eliminado ainda na primeira fase do torneio. Já Carlos Alberto Parreira se consagrou como o técnico com mais participações em Mundiais – já dirigiu Arábia Saudita, Brasil, Emirados Árabes e Kuwait antes de ficar à frente dos sul-africanos. Contra a França, ele obteve a primeira vitória sem estar no comando da seleção brasileira.
