França reage a ameaça da Fifa contra intervenção no futebol

Uma ameaça da Fifa nesta terça-feira de banir a seleção francesa e os times do país de competições internacionais se o governo interferir em assuntos do futebol não deteve o debate político sobre o fiasco da França na Copa do Mundo.
O presidente da Fifa, Joseph Blatter, alertou o governo francês nesta terça-feira a não interferir nas questões de sua associação de futebol, ou o organismo pode suspender a federação de futebol da França. “Na França eles fizeram do futebol um ‘affaire d’État’ (assunto de Estado), mas o futebol continua nas mãos da federação”, disse Blatter aos repórteres nesta terça-feira.

“O futebol francês pode contar com a Fifa no caso de interferência política, mesmo em nível presidencial, é uma mensagem clara”, disse. “Iremos ajudar a associação francesa, e se não puder ser resolvido por consulta a única coisa que nos resta é suspender a federação.”

A ameaça de Blatter veio um dia depois do presidente da Federação Francesa de Futebol (FFF), Jean-Pierre Escalettes, se demitir na esteira do fiasco francês na Copa do Mundo.
A ministra francesa do Esporte, Roselyne Bachelot havia dito na semana passada que a demissão de Escalettes era “inevitável”. O debate continuará com as notícias desta terça-feira de que o técnico Raymond Domenech e Escalettes serão ouvidos por uma comissão parlamentar da Assembleia Nacional na quarta-feira.
Bachelot, que também falou à comissão, garantiu que o governo preservará a independência da FFF. “Em circunstância alguma círculos políticos deveriam interferir nas determinações de autoridades do esporte”, declarou ao organismo, que não tem poder para adotar sanções.
“Estou determinada a proteger a FFF contra qualquer forma de interferência.” Se a França for suspensa, sua seleção não poderia atuar em eventos internacionais e seus clubes ficariam impedidos de participar de competições europeias.
Domenech será substituído por Laurent Blanc após o final traumático de um período de seis anos no comando da seleção francesa. Blanc foi um elemento importante da equipe que venceu o Mundial de 1998.
A revolta com a eliminação da França na fase de grupos do Mundial foi tal que o presidente Nicolas Sarkozy exigiu uma revisão do futebol nacional e se encontrou com o ex-capitão Thierry Henry a pedido do jogador.
